Salad is an essential part of every meal. There is no way an ILYNSI meal is complete without an amazing and nutritious salad on the side. In some cases, a large salad is my meal and a perfect way to stay healthy.
Materials: Knife, cutting board, salad bowl, mixing spoon
Ingredients: Romaine Lettuce (or greens of choice), olive oil, kalamata olives, feta cheese (optional if dairy free or vegan), za'tar spice, red onions, baby peppers, cherry tomatoes, lemon
- Wash the romaine lettuce well to remove any dirt. One trick I use is to soak my greens in salt water for a few minutes to extract any dirt or critters.
- Dry romaine lettuce
- Chop fresh vegetables
- Combine all chopped romaine lettuce and vegetables into a salad bowl
- Add olive oil
- Add za'tar
- Add feta
- Add kalamata olives
- Squeeze lemon
- Mix well
