Pizza Recipe - ILYNSI Yoga

I love pizza! If I could eat it all the time, I would. I love making this recipe whenever I have friends over for game night or movie night. It’s also a great dish to make date night when you and love just want to stay in and cuddle with some good food, wine, and a movie. If you are looking to impress your guests with your cooking skills but don’t have that much time, then this is the dish for you. I generally like to serve this with a salad (link to salads)

Materials: Rolling pin, round baking sheet, small saucepan, bowl, small baking sheet, parchment paper, can opener, small bowl, ladle   

Ingredients: premade pizza dough, tomato sauce, 4 garlic cloves, shredded mozzarella, bell peppers, arugula, canned chickpeas, cayenne pepper, fresh basil, pizza seasonings (pepper flakes, oregano, garlic powder)


  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees F
  • Open can of chickpeas, drain, and rinse off excess juice from can under running water. Then dry chickpeas with a paper towel.
  • Open can of tomato sauce.  
  • Line small baking sheet with parchment paper
  • Prewash arugula
  • Dice 6 garlic cloves
  • Chop handful of fresh basil
  • Slice bell peppers


  • Chickpeas
    • Add chickpeas to small bowl
    • Add 1 tbspn of cayenne pepper and a pinch of salt and pepper
    • Drizzle 2 tbspns of olive oil
    • Mix together until even seasoned
    • Add to baking sheet laid with parchment paper
    • Put in oven for 10-15 min
  • Tomato Sauce
    • Preheat saucepan
    • Add can of tomato sauce to saucepan
    • Add ½ of the diced garlic cloves to the tomato sauce
    • Add ¼ tspn of salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper
    • Add chopped fresh basil
    • Stir everything in evenly until sauce comes to a simmer
  • Pizza
    • Rollout pizza dough in shape/size of your baking sheet, remove excess and put to the side
    • Drizzle 1 tspn of olive oil all over the dough
    • Add 1 ladle full of tomato sauce to pizza dough
    • Add 2 handfuls of shredded mozzarella cheese
    • Add remaining half of diced garlic cloves
    • Add sliced bell peppers
    • Add 2 handfuls of arugula
    • Add 2 handfuls of seasoned chickpeas
    • Place in oven for 15-20 min until crust is golden
  • Garlic Knots
    • Using the excess pizza dough, tie into small knots
    • Add olive oil wash on top of the knots
    • Add diced garlic sprinkled on top of the knots
    • Add chopped basil to the top of the knots
    • Sprinkle salt and pepper
    • Bake for 10 min
