Karma Series: The Law of Significance and Inspiration
The Law of Significance and Inspiration states that the quality of your return depends on the significance of your investment. This law describes the importance of having passion for all that you do. The true value of something is a direct result of the energy, intent, and level of effort that is put into it. This is how we are able to find the courage and desire to continue along a chosen path.
Do What You Love
As energetic beings we have the power to create anything we can imagine. This is an opportunity to bring life to something and should be done so with thriving energy. Similarly, life is like a boomerang where whatever you put out is what you receive in return. Therefore, putting lackluster energy into something will only generate lackluster results. Instead, focus your energy on passion projects. Whenever you do what you love, you bring love to it. When you love something even the hardest things can seem effortless. Start by creating a list of things that you absolutely love to do. Focus on the ones that you are willing to devote the time and energy needed to manifest into something greater.
“Believe you can and you're halfway there.” - Theodore Roosevelt
Find Your Inspiration
Finding the inspiration to continue working on a new endeavor can be hard, especially once you start experiencing obstacles. There are also so many distractions in this highly connected culture that can be a deterrent from our main objectives. Below are some examples on how to find your inspiration and stay motivated:
- Research people who have accomplished what you have set out to achieve to learn about their journey. This will help you get a better understanding of the challenges they faced and how they overcame them.
- Surround yourself with positive like-minded people. Your environment will affect you by either elevating you or bringing you down. It is important to surround yourself with people that will support and inspire you to be your best self.
- Invest in yourself. In order to succeed in anything you must continuously seek to learn new things. Listen to podcasts, read new material, go to talks, and take lectures. There is never a shortage of information on any given topic and there is always room to grow. Have a hunger for knowledge so you can continue to improve your expertise and become better.
- Get a mentor. Having someone in your life that can guide you in the right direction is critical to your success. This person can either be a physical or virtual mentor who offers advice, support, and inspiration that motivates you to achieve your goals.
“Just don't give up trying to do what you really want to do. Where there is love and inspiration, I don't think you can go wrong.” Ella Fitzgerald
Starting something new is always scary because you never know how it will turn out. However, this law is directing you to keep working toward your goals and you will be sure to achieve them. The results of your efforts may take time but it is important to be patient not just with the process but also with yourself. Trust in your abilities to make things happen. It all depends on how badly you want it and how much energy you are willing to put into it.
“Inspiration comes from within yourself. One has to be positive. When you're positive, good things happen.” - Deep Roy
